Established in 1997 as a charitable trust, the Managers’
Guild Trust provides straight-forward, useful information that
helps people avoid becoming victims of crime.
The Trust achieves this by educating communities through the use of its annual
Managers’ Guild Trust Journals.
These cover themes such as alcohol and drugs, family violence, building a better
community together, better parenting, crime prevention, and child safety.
Publications are approximately 60 pages in length and are distributed free of
charge to the public in 20 different policing areas throughout New Zealand. Over
two million publications are given out each year.
This is made possible thanks to over 60,000 local businesses, which support the
Trust through sponsorship and advertising. The money raised from advertisers
helps with the production, printing and distribution of the journals.
Additionally the Managers’ Guild Trust has returned over three million
dollars to the community over the past eight years.
On Tuesday 20 June 1997 David Steemson from Radio NZ interviewed Rob Abbott,
Chairman of the Police Managers’ Guild Trust, and Andrew Carruthers of
Line 2 Line Concepts Ltd about the Managers’ Guild Trust and its journals.
